Look how apologists turn and twist in whitewashing Islam

Uncle Vladdi, you explained what the real problem for Islam-apologists is. And under pressure from Islam-experts from our side, like Robert Spencer, David Wood etc. and in explaining what ISIS and so many other radical Muslims so often are doing in the name of Islam, look at them twisting and turning to portray Islam as innocent, somehow neutral.

Often they just lie or deny and in effect admit that their holy texts do not mean exactly or completely what they apparently say, or they resort to the circumstances of the time. They play tu quoque a lot! But we can counter Tu Quoque with asking; If Islam is only as good as and no better than other religions, what extra worth does Islam, and thus Allah, give?

The apologists also resort a lot to obfuscating, diversion and farfetched explanation of texts, like explaining Quran 4;34 with ""beating women with toothbrushes" . They obviously are much handicapped by the impossibility of upgrading problematic or incomplete parts of their immutable MIG (Most Important Guiding) texts.

In explaining what caused + motivated ISIS, they resort to denial + downright ridiculous conspiracytheories. Now even the Egyptian TV-host Ibrahim ridiculued that.

As for the Maddhabs + the closing of the gates of Ijtihad, we can point out that those contain manmade, not divine decisions on Islam and we can put scorn on Al Ghazali, the medieval conservative cleric, who taught a lot to make Islam so stagnant after him.

That is, among other reasons, why I like to propose that we declare Islam irresponsibly multi-interpretable, unclear, incomplete, obsolete. Therewith conceding that so-called moderate Muslims also have legitimate interpretations,

but at the same time are to be held accountable for their being in the same organisation still with the anti-democratic interpreters of Islam, thereby losing trustworthiness from the standpoint of democratic citizens, parliaments and governments. Giving them the way out of declaring themselves Democratic Muslims, which in turn may help to get enough of the "Ben Afflecks" aboard. As we then can no longer be accused of "painting all Muslims with the same brush".
