How to convince a majority of democratic citizens

Reader comment on item: Trump: You Should Ban Islamists, Not Muslims
in response to reader comment: There is no such thing as an "islamist" - their Qur'an calls them "muslims!" And crime-gangs are already illegal.

Uncle Vladdi, impressive, I daresay you are right and I like to use your excellent arguments.

But, it is not the likes of me, or most visitors here, that you need to convince, it is a majority in democratic nations, the "Ben Afflecks", that you need for effective democratic policies for defending our Democratic laws and system.

Your expertise on the constitution is robust and hard to challenge. But your portrayal of what Islam is and what it is not, what conditions are to be met to be called a Muslim or apostate,

on that you will get endless denials, rejections.

Probably the most used objection will be"you cannot paint all Muslims with one brush". Another big one will be that you only quoted part of Quran Hadiths Sira (QHS). A third one: You quoted later Tafsir-works (like reliance of the traveller) and not all Muslims agree with all of those.

The list of objections will be long and strong. But here is what apologists and political corrects in the long run cannot deny, cannot hide; that there are millions upon millions of Muslims who REALLY follow a REALLY anti-Constitution, anti-Democratic INTERPRETATION of Islam. Our experts and MEMRI-TV and ex-Muslims can bring an endless mountain of proof for that.

But that at least leaves us with the inevitable conclusion that: Islam (QHS) is vague, multi-interpretable and by far too many Muslims anti-Democratic, Hostile, violently interpreted.

And that in turn can make it reasonable to say that adheringn to such a vague, multi-interpretable ideology/ religion, while immigrating into or residing in a Democratic Nation, is supporting the anti-democratic hostile violent forces too much in a irresponsible way. For such choices there should be consequences, in order to defend Democracy.

If Muslims deny that Islam is like you portray it and no problem as it is practiced by the other hundreds of Millions of Muslims (the nice and peaceful ones apologists and Ben Afflecks always come up with) then how can those Muslims then refuse to openly choose the side of the democratic nation he/ she lives in?

And how else can he/ she restore trust in Muslims, part of such an organisation with it's many contradicting interpretations, practices, among whom ARE abominable anti-Democratic, violent, hostile ones?
