I met many Iranians who came to Canada in the 80's when the Shah of Iran was disposed.

Their view, you are too optimistic about the integration of Muslims to a tolerant secular way of life.

This is exemplified by a the following...

An orthodox Muslim family has children born in the USA. The children go to religious school, where the prayer books and the commentaries are studied in detail. Children are swayed to want Sharia law throughout the land. Though the parents are respectful of the law of the land, many of their children become Islamized . With the US gun laws, fear comes into these other immigrants.

And the regular Muslim, who supports tolerance, do they want Sharia or some form of it? The answer is as obvious as the Jew divorcee wanting her "Get".

I am pleased that Canada is bringing in Muslims in droves. I support what we are doing. Our birthrate, like that of the USA is 1.8 which means that the population of our countries is in decline, unless we can import taxpayers to cover our pensions and to raise the birthrate to 2.2 (a non-growth balance). I am also happy that we invited these families and that they can integrate themselves into our Canadian fabric.

In a way, it is sad that we can offer so much to refugees and immigrants, but we fail to do the same for our poor. Our poor are they third class citizens?
