Trumps call for a Muslim Halt is worthwhile

Reader comment on item: Trump: You Should Ban Islamists, Not Muslims

Mr. Pipes,

I think Trumps call for a Muslim Halt is worthwhile, even if the problems you raise are accurate. I grant them all to be accurate because I genuinely have faith in your understanding of the weight of these things. However, taking them all and balancing them against halting all immigration if we have to so as to address Muslims, it. Note that CAIR, as you know, has been given wide respect and courtesy by this administration, and maybe even by Bush. Trump could use this halt to, as he says, figure out "the Muslim problem." CAIR and how we should officially treat them is one big issue.

Among the other "Muslim problems" are all the problems with Islam that you have pointed out so well on this site. One lesson I have taken away is that the more Muslims a currently non-historically Muslim country takes in as immigrants, the more problems it will have. If the immigration is officially encouraged or rewarded by easy family importation and generous transfer payments - like us, pre-Trump - more problems yet. None of the problems that Trump – with the help of experts like you - can lay out will not get a hearing any time soon without this current effort by him. Both America and the EU need to hear this stuff publicly discussed. The articles and comments here, at Gatestone, and in a few other spots need that wide exposure. Much credit to you, Mr. Pipes, but look at this as an opportunity to lay a bunch of very, very inconvenient truth on the table.
