Reader comment on item: Trump: You Should Ban Islamists, Not Muslims

Submitted by Jacques Hadida (United States), Dec 11, 2015 at 17:42

Dear Daniel

Your fIrst suggestion is to stop "Islamists entering the United States." Islamists being Muslims who seek to apply Islamic Sharia " How can You Tell amongst Muslims Who is an Islamist And Who is not'? Pretty hard to tell them one from another. Imagine the vetting process! Also You say" They make up about 10-15 percent of the Muslim population who "believe only in Jihad." CAN You imagine That That amount represents about 150 million of them? Isnt That scary? I would say 0.1% and It Will stil represent 1.5 million. Second, you suggest "engage in serious research into all would-be visitors and immigrants, not the pro-forma review that prevails these days. Doing so requires money and time, as well as creative inquiries to smoke out ideological proclivities, but each person entering the country must be checked to make sure no Islamists are allowed in"

You admit yourself It Will take Time And Money, how about the energy? While Trump seems radical in avoiding the whole process.. I may not agree with him but I can understand his rational. As I am writing, everyone is expecting something to happen and sadly bigger . Why should we live under this fear? Why did our life take such a turn? Well, I will tell you, it is due to the indifference of every government in this world ( except Israel) who doesn't seem to care to take ISIS seriously. They only will when it will be too late. Tell me that I am wrong!
