Reader comment on item: Sudden Jihad or "Inordinate Stress" at Ft. Hood?

Submitted by John W. McGinley (United States), Nov 9, 2009 at 12:24

Unfortunately for our country voices such as yours and Ralph Peters tend to be ignored or contemptuously rejected. It is clear to me that, whatever stress that shooter may have had, he was motivated by an Islamist/jihadist mindset. I doubt that he was part of any definite organized "plot" although his associations over the years doubtlessly inculcated in him this mindset. But that's just the Point. It is probable that it will be a continuing danger to our country, its people, and its institutions that individuals and small groups WITH AMERICAN CITIZENSHIP will perpetrate immense and unspeakable horror on innocent people.

And, except for voices such as yours and Ralph Peters, no one will accurately NAME the eight-hundred pound gorilla living publically in our midst. There is zero chance of thwarting the threat if we continue to refuse to NAME the threat. Denial is not just a river in egypt.
