Well, assuming that "Yeshua HaMashiach" is yet another silly nearly unpronounceable name for an imaginary diety, I don't believe that an actual "witness" (as in, 'one who has actually met him') has yet been discovered. Ditto for Jehova, Yehwah, Allah, and just plain old 'God' as we Americans generally call him.

If British Atheists are attempting to enlighten "believers" with billboards and bus advertising that invokes them to discontinue their fear of retribution from the imaginary celestial dictator in the clouds, I'm all for it. After all, when the belief system is primarily designed to inculcate fear in its devotees, wouldn't they be better off without it?

M. Tovey's last statement is: "The only question remaining is that if the UK, and anywhere else where there is an increase in Islam, is finally covered in Sharia law, what will be the defense then for not believing in a God, any God."

Well, I'm not sure exactly what he is asking here. If you mean that non-believers will be persecuted by the dominant Muslims, as most certainly would happen, then that would simply put we Atheists in the same boat with you Christians, Jews, Hindus and all other non-Muslims. Which really only goes to prove my original point about the insidious effect that religion has upon human societies in general and should lead one to endorse the eventual disappearance of them all.

If what M. Tovey means to suggest is that the only possible alternative to Islamic domination is to embrace yet another form of religious domination, I hasten to suggest a third alternative, which is that NO adherence to the worship of any supernatural non-existing beings is a superior course to take for any rational person with a functioning brain.
