Reader comment on item: May an American Comment on Israel?
in response to reader comment: Ahmed- Quit hiding behind a Muslim name

Submitted by the Grand Infidel of Kaffiristan (Australia), Aug 6, 2008 at 21:42

Unsa Rahim writes : "Ahmed: Why don't you reveal your real jewish name to us? Why hide behind a Muslim name?" This question was asked because 'Ahmed' has apparently strayed from what is agreeable to Mr. Unsa and suggested that hezbollah are run by madmen and backed by Iran

A couple of points here , Mr. Unsa. Is it required that all Muslims believe what you believe and support Hezbollah? Are they castigated or worse for expressing a contrary opinion? Why is following the dictates of the lowest common denominator of the group mind so popular in the Muslim cultures - when will they be allowed to think for themselves? Are any allowed to have a contrary opinion to yours and against the general Muslim grievance against the existence of Israel?

Could it be possible that 'Ahmad' is actually using his real name - but has just for the first time in his life - woken up and seen where the real problems lie? If I met a Muslim named 'Jeff' or "John' for example - should I ask him to start using his 'real' 'Muslim' name? Are names 'Muslim' in fact? Or Arabic? Or are you confused about the distinction?
