For years American foreign policy and its relationship with Arab states in the Middle East has been soured by blatant favoritism for Israel. Netanyahu's arrogant assumption that this relationship cannot be shaken by his contempt and disrespect for our president, his openly partisan love affair with congressional republicans and his blatant flip-flops on policy to secure reelection should cost Israel our support in the United Nations, the International Criminal Court and other world bodies and a clear signal that Israel will lose all future U.S. aid and support if it continues settlement building in the Occupied Territories. The only alternative to a two-state solution in that part of the world is a one-state solution, either a democracy in which Israel's Arab citizens will eventually outvote Israel's Jewish citizens, or an apartheid state in which the Arabs are perpetually denied equal rights.
