Samir Kuntar's Last LaughReader comment on item: Samir Kuntar and the Last Laugh Submitted by Maurice (Israel), Jul 21, 2008 at 04:10 If readers have noticed the photos of Kuntar prior to and following his repatriation, it's obvious that he had not been starved during his long incarceration. He was not physically abused either - at least recently anyway. Israel's treatment of high security prisoners is a far cry from how Israeli prisoners have been treated; even in countries like Egypt. As far as those who were captured or kidnapped by either Palestinians or by the Hezbollah, few have made it home alive, and most, including Eldad Regev were killed after being captured (Udi Goldwasser seems to have been killed during the attack on their vehicle on July 12, 2006). So much for the Geneva Convention and any humanitarianism on the part of Israel's enemies. It just doesn't exist for Israelis.
