Yes, but ... ?

I agree with everything Dr. Pipes has said in this article, but I wonder how he explains Israel's raid last September on a Syrian nuclear reactor--by all accounts a virtual clinic on covert methods in war--and its (purported) killing of the elusive terrorist Imad Mugniyeh, in light of the apathetic spirit of the Olmert government?
