Noble bones

Reader comment on item: Samir Kuntar and the Last Laugh

Submitted by William East (United States), Jul 26, 2008 at 12:21

Surely the picture embedded in this article captures Islamacists but does anyone believe a single Muslim stands in that crowd? I ask this question because I find it impossible to detect the difference. One of the central arguments of this website appears to be rested upon understanding the defining difference between the Islamic terrorist and the submitting practicing Muslim.

Is it that this Samir Kuntar person is the Islamacist, having wrought murder upon even a helpless child, and those who have not struck mortal wounds against Israel, or other ideologies, stand as innocent Muslims? I assume most of the individuals in that picture agree with the rifle butt killing of a four year old girl. My reasoning is that each person standing in agreement with the depraved acts of Samir Kuntar is, in virtual fact, Samir Kuntar too.

Can Islam find lasting tolerance to other systems of law and religions and cultures? I say no. I believe there will always be radical elements in Islam emulating fools like Samir Kuntar. Always. I believe that no matter the degree of compromise between Muslim and non-Muslim, that Muslims will never be satisfied with any system less than fully implemented Sharia law.

I find the noble bones of those Israeli fighters of greater value than every living soul set in trade for them.

Can someone please tell me why Mr. Pipes believes this result, ' legitimates Hizbullah internationally ' ?
