Keep your hopes low with Tarique Ghaffur

Reader comment on item: Why the Japanese Internment Still Matters

Dear Dr Pipes, When I saw a very nice and nifty picture of Tarique Ghaffur, the Ex-Scotland Yard assistant commissioner, and a partial endorsement of him from you, my hopes were raised many folds. I thought that I had probably found a moderate Muslim. I was wrong and I will advise you to keep your hopes low of him. Mr Ghaffur is doing and has always done what Muslims do best in non-Muslim societies. He has complained, demanded, and sued. He has served the purpose of the umma better than none other.

You see, Mr Ghaffur has lived a very successful life. He rose to a very high rank in the Queen's police force and won many awards. He was an immigrant to the UK from Uganda from where he was expelled by his fellow Muslim Idi Amin for being an Asian. Before that Mr Ghaffur's family had to escape from India/Pakistan in the wake of the partition of India to create a holy land for Muslims. Twice displaced by his own people, Mr Ghaffur should have appreciated that life as an immigrant in the UK will not be easy and he should not take things for granted. But Mr Ghuffar was not complacent or satisfied. He sued. He sued his own employer (Scotland Yards) for discrimination against him because of his religion and successfully won a lawsuit and won pounds 300,000. This after he was the highest ranked Muslim police officer in the UK! Nice booty from kuffars!

Many years after winning the law suit, Mr Ghuffar wrote the Daily mail article that you quoted. There may be a change of heart, but I will keep my hopes low. He is just a true Muslim in a kuffar land.
