This is how hate starts: response to "Andrew"

Reader comment on item: Why the Japanese Internment Still Matters

This is is exactly how hate starts. To have individuals who talk about religion, race, and other sensitive topics - like they know what they are doing. Andrew quotes a random passage from the Qur'an and states a very hateful rhetoric and then argues..."we can definitely prove the dangers posed to US citizens by Islamist ideology coming from Quranic verses."

First of all, you cannot read the Qur'an without the historical evidence behind it and if he and many others read the rest of the Qur'an - you will find that the basic meaning of Islam is peace through discipline. I am saddened by people like Andrew who encourge misunderstanding, hate, and distrust.

Also you find passages like Andrew quoted in the Qur'an in the Bible and Torah and many other Biblical books because when people have faith in a certain religion they believe that the individuals not within that religon are "infidels."

So before we jump to conclusions on Muslims and the verses of the Qur'an and how they pose a threat to America - think about it how Muslims helped America. Statistically in the United States, Muslims are the most educated and have the highest income compared to the rest of America. And so when Andrew drives around in his car he should think about where his gas came from...
