Reader comment on item: Why the Japanese Internment Still Matters
in response to reader comment: JAPANESE RELOCATION MYTH BAINBRIDGE ISLAND, WA

Submitted by howard freeman (United States), May 30, 2015 at 17:58

I have been watching the discussion on the Japanese American Internment for many years. I detect

little movement in the pro Japanese position and still often come upon the claim that no japanese was

ever convictied of any wrong doing. This i know is because they were not put into our justice system

but simply interned as allowed and required by the geneva conventions. I always see the number inturned

given as 120,000 without the acknowledgement that 2/3 were children who owned no property. Old news

paper articles report on the arrest of many japanese nationals being caught in violation of security laws.

Where are the records ?
