Unfair accusations of fascism

Reader comment on item: Why the Japanese Internment Still Matters

Submitted by Moderate Pragmatist (United States), Nov 17, 2016 at 11:41

Dear Dr. Pipes,

Think about all the people who unfairly accuse you or suspect you of being a closet fascist over this article and then take a look at your campaign to call out Trump as a fascist. . Are you really being fair? Are you acting like your enemies? Its something to think about. Would you defend Trump if he had said, nay argued, that the Japanese Internment camps were a valid legal precedent? Its very fashionable to trash and pile on Trump right now. If you read some of the leaked documents from Wikileaks and Project Veritas you would see that the Clintons and the DNC have taken many tactics from the Fascist Playbook, just look at the professional rioters protesting Trump, the rigging of the Democratic Primary, etc.

Maybe you are right and I am wrong. I am one of those educated white voters who voted for Obama the first time (ignoring your sage advice) hoping for real change. I voted for Trump hoping he would really "drain the swamp." Once again I'll be willing to eat my hat if I'm wrong. But I really think that you might have to eat your hat on this one. And I don't want to see someone so important to public policy be discredited.

I respect it, if you wish not to publish this on the website as it is really an appeal to you Dr. Pipes respectfully requesting you take a more tolerant view towards the President Elect.
