Israel's Victory

Reader comment on item: My Peace Plan: An Israeli Victory

... since one doesn't normally comes across articles discussing Israel's victory, it comes as a whiff of fresh air. True. The only solution that ensures peace in the region, and prosperity for the inhabitants, is an 'absolute victory' for Israel, but is an absolute victory for Israel feasible? Inhabitants of the region and their co-religionists spread across the globe do not want peace with Israel. Even their concept of prosperity does not match with ours. They do not want the prosperity Israel's total victory is going to provide them. They do not now, and can never recognize the right of Israel to exist. They have been ordained by none other than Allah to fight the Jews till the last one of them is killed. Consequently, any victory by Israel is not going to be complete unless the last of the Islamists is killed.

Is it possible? If at any stage, Palestinians succumb and make peace with Israel, it will be nothing more than a tactical retreat, in order to buy time for regrouping and picking up the fight again. Your argument that Israel just has to beat Palestine, is flawed. Israel's survival so far has been nothing short of a mathematical miracle. What chances does Israel have with half the world fighting it, and the other half remaining neutral, particularly when the Muslims are willing to fight till eternity? With Obama taking a pro- Palestine stand, Europe being islamized, Pakistan, Iran, and Sudan going nuclear, and Israel itself losing the will to continue the fight, what chances does Israel have to achieve this victory, and enact this ... plan of yours?
