Reader comment on item: My Peace Plan: An Israeli Victory

Submitted by John R Peacher (United States), Apr 30, 2010 at 09:06

There is no substitute for victory. We have forgotten what the word means. Are we so uncertain that our goals are just; living in peace with our neighbors, respecting others opinions and thoughts, working through difficult situations when the do arise, and they will from time to time. Catering to a people or societies that preach and teach violence and hatred, even to children is not the path to peace. This mindset is a roadmap to hell for everyone. Those who teach murder and terror must be defeated at all costs for the sake of all civilized societies everywhere on this planet.

Western democracies remind me of a bunch of campers in the woods whose camp is invaded by a large angry bear. Terrorism and the groups affliated with terror are the bear of our day. The United States of America has of late taken the attitude that we do not need to run faster than the bear, we just want to run faster than the other campers! This is not acceptable or mature behavior. Israel is a democratic government surrounded by nations comprising of hundreds of millions of people who desire their total destruction. If any nation on earth needs encouragement, assistance and victory over terror it is Israel.

Have we as a nation lost our minds?
