Reader comment on item: My Peace Plan: An Israeli Victory

"Fortunately for Israel, it need only defeat the Palestinians, and not the entire Arab or Muslim population, which eventually will follow the Palestinian lead in accepting Israel."

Dr. Pipes , you must not confuse ordinary Muslim folk in the Muslim world with unelected dictators who fight on behalf of Israel. And another point that the Palestinian people has already accepted Israel as a Jewish state but it does not mean that all the Muslims will support that.

Look the Turks , once formidable Israeli allies are increasingly turning against Israel. The Iranians who live thousands of miles apart from Israel consider Israel as a threat to them.

One look into the history of the region will tell you that the inhabitants in holy land never opposed foreign rule. Even the crusader states who ruled the Holy land were destroyed by Saladin and Mamluks both are Muslims who are from outside the holy land.

You never know what will happen a decade later. One decade ago you were saying that Turkey and Israel will join together against Iran and Syria. A decade later you yourself had to say "Turkey , an ally no more".

Remember the whole equation of the region will change if there is a revolution in Egypt and Saudi Arabia if Islamic fundamentalists come to power in those countries.

I hope you will publish this post of mine and answer the points mentioned here.
