General and Statesman Moshe Dayan

Reader comment on item: My Peace Plan: An Israeli Victory

Moshe Dayan said:

Let us not be afraid to see the hatred that consumes the lives of hundreds of thousands of Arabs who sit around us and wait for the moment when their hands will be able to reach our blood.

Our American friends offer us money, arms, and advice. We take the money, we take the arms, and we decline the advice. (This is particularly crucial considering the bowing and scraping and begging of the Obama administration.)

It was in our power to set high price for our blood, a price too high for the Arab community, the Arab army, or the Arab governments to think it worth paying.

We are a generation of settlers, and without the steel helmet and gun barrel, we shall not be able to plant a tree or build a house.

We have but two strong leaders left in this world Netanyahu and Sarkoszy and if America can somehow retrieve its political mind and its strength of purpose and mend fences with our family in Israel maybe there is a shred of hope for this unworthy world. But those centrifuges are still spinning while Obama is still pleading.

If we'd leave Israel alone to win this war instead of interfering and making peace impossible, then and only then will there be progress. Israel knows what it is doing. It's we who are confused.
