The correct church in question is the "Münster" in Bonn/Germany. There is a religious matter connected to carnival. Catholics love it and the protestants reject it. In Holland carnival illustrates the big rivers as the dividing line between catholics and protestants. South of that line and further south in Belgium there would be carnival. North there is none. The people north take the practical approach and celebrate carnival by means of travelling south. Muslims obviously fall under neither of those categories.
