At our peril

Reader comment on item: Swiss Minarets and European Islam

Submitted by Howard E. Cook (United States), Dec 11, 2009 at 12:51

In 1794, Billaud-Varenne warned the France that a military government is the worst of all government "after theocracy." A theocracy, in other words, is the worst imaginable form of government.

That judgement rested on the sound evidence of European history.

That judgement also lay behind the American constitutional provision that Congress shall make no laws regarding religion.

Sharia is by definition a thoecracy. Sharia is, therfore, a concept subversive to the intentions of the Americasn Constitution.

It follows that the concept of Sharia must be denounced as unAmerican and unconstitutional.

Muslims, in trying to promote the concept of Sharia, are acting as subversives.

The United States of American tolerates Muslims at at its peril.
