European Countries Need to Unapologetically Proclaim That Their Laws and Traditions are Supreme to Islam

Reader comment on item: Swiss Minarets and European Islam

"Second, Europe stands at a crossroads with respect to its Muslim population. Of the three main future prospects – everyone getting along, Muslims dominating, or Muslims rejected – the first is highly improbable but the second and third seem equally possible. "

I think there is a fourth possibility: in the aftermath of Swiss vote, more and more Europeans including those of Muslim background who do not want to live under Islam, will form a united front against Islamization and clearly proclaim that anyone who wants to impose on Europe Islamic Sharia Law or who publicly supports Jihad should be thrown out of Europe. European nations need a massive conscience wake up to realize/rediscover that they posses unique Judaic and Christian heritage and laws combined with rational inquiry inherited from Greco-Roman world that makes civilized life possible. They should say to Muslim communities loud and clear that their laws, traditions and heritage is supreme to Islamic laws and practices and that any Islamic traditions that come in conflict with European cultural heritage should be rejected.

Also, until Islam reforms itself and rejects its totalitarian and violent aspects, such as Sharia Law and Jihad, it should be treated similar to Nazism and Communism as totalitarian movements that need to be kept under strict security control.
