Can't be done

Reader comment on item: Swiss Minarets and European Islam
in response to reader comment: Why Muslims don't agree for reciprocity when it comesd to rights of non-Muslims in Muslims countries???

What you ask is of course only reasonable in the real world - a world of reasonable, thoughful, open-minded people. But we're talking about the world of Islam. I've lived in it; I've read the Qur'an; I've (secretly) dated Muslimas; I've had "moderate" Muslim friends. Believe me, Islam is never going to change. It never has and it never will. There can be no "reform" in Islam. For Islam to change would mean changing and revising the Qur'an, and that's the last thing that'll ever happen. We're stuck with this brutal, barbaric, closed-minded, tribal "religion." It's unforthunate, but we're going to have to to decide whether to be the hammer or the nail - we will ultimately have no other choice. Of course I'm one who believes we should start the hammering, hard and non-stop.
