Reader comment on item: In Iraq, Stay the Course - but Change It

Submitted by dfwhite (United States), Oct 25, 2006 at 16:15

Honestly I don't think Bush and his advisors have any idea of what to do in Iraq, it's obvious the strategy they are now using just ain't cutting it.... Now the democrats/liberals would say withdrawing our troops would be the sane thing to do, but would it be the right thing to do ! Yes Bush can withdraw our troops and let the differant factions have the civil war they so much clamor for, or he can stay and get more of our troops killed everyday.

This will be the case as long as he continues trying to fight this war on terror in a PC way.. I get sick to my stomach evertime I see our troops getting killed while trying to protect a people who want us out.. To send men into buildings were snipers and bomb making crazies are hiding is to put it bluntly stupid, not to mention unconscionable. When our troops are fired upon from a home, mosque, or anyother building, they should bring in the tanks in and level any building to it's foundation these insurgents are cowering in.... Then send in our troops to mop up..... If it means destroying block after block it should be done.....

This some people will say is a scorched earth policy, if it worked in World War two it will work now. But of course this won't be done because like I said earlier this war is being played by PC rules, which means this conflict will never be over and Americas best will continue to die in the bloody sands of the middle east...
