Reader comment on item: In Iraq, Stay the Course - but Change It

Submitted by Terry Senum (Canada), Oct 24, 2006 at 17:08

I firmly believe there should be a change of direction of US forces in Iraq as Daniel Pipes states but stay the course. I am a Canadian who is deeply concerned about the coalition (US and British) forces in Iraq. I question though the length of stay of coalition forces in Iraq. Maybe indefinitely is the answer. I may be wrong. God forbid!

The violence in Iraq is an Iraqi problem. Shi' ite versus Sunni. I firmly believe the vast majority of Iraqis want a democratic form of government. I pray as a christian that Iraq will one day be run by Iraqis(by Shi'ites, Sunnis and Kurds). If change the course doesn't work US forces should leave Iraq. Let the Iraqis prove themselves worthy of governing under present circumstances.
