Do Democrats care about Iraq?

Reader comment on item: In Iraq, Stay the Course - but Change It

Submitted by Caesar M. Arevalo (United States), Oct 25, 2006 at 01:50

It is disgusting and shameful those Democrats who are constantly attacking the Bush administration instead of focusing in how to defeat the common enemy of all Americans: Islamic terrorism.

To "stay in the course," or as Dr. Pipes said "change the course," takes more than a good strategy. It takes unity in purpose and support. However, not only politicians are the only Bush-haters, the so-called mainstream media (CNN, MSNBC, CBS, ABC, etc.) also takes a great credit on the anti-Bush campaign.

Therefore the Bush administration is fighting two wars, inside with cynics Democrats and anti-American leftists, and abroad with Islamic terrorists. Just for that, I think the Bush administration deserves great credit. I am not saying that Bush and his administration are correct hundred per cent, what I am saying is that it takes a great deal of energy and resources to keep a nation as big as America safe.

We cannot quit Iraq. That would be a great defeat in American foreign policy. The image of America would be tarnished and would lose credibility.

However, Demorats think that "cut and run" is the best strategy. They have no plans. All of them repeat the same mantra: " Bush lied, people died," "Iraq is a failure," "Fire Rumsfeld," "Neo cons are the architects," "Iraq was invaded because of its oil," "There are more terrorists in Iraq now than before USA invaded Iraq," "One million people died," "It is disgrace," "Iraq is Vietnam," and so on.

Actually, the big question is Does democrats care about Iraq? based on my own observation and analysis, Democrats care a bit about Iraq. They care about defeating Bush at expenses of America's security. For them, Iraq is resolved when we quit. Their best strategy is America losing the war in Iraq and ridiculing Bush everyday.

Just a brief message to democrats: we the American people know who are the true patriots. And most of them are not in the democrat party.
