Reader comment on item: In Iraq, Stay the Course - but Change It

Submitted by MelM (United States), Oct 30, 2006 at 18:57

In all of the controversy over Iraq, many many people (including the politicians) are not even asking this question: "What do we need to do now to end the threat from Islamic totalitarianism?"

A stable (allowing Bush to declare success) but far more religiously fanatic Iraq is not going to do anything to end Islamic totalitarianism. But, according to the recent news conference, Bush has NO plan at all to do anything more against Islamic totalitarian regimes. Neither have I seen the dems putting together a strategy to end the threat.

So, we don't even have a master plan by which we might judge what to do about Iraq; we're stymied. Leaving the troops out in the streets to get shot while the country decides whether to fight or not is really disgusting. Please ask: "What do we need to do to end the threat?"
