You are certainly right about Iran and its nuclear weapons program. If it is not stopped we will have nuclear terrorism and nuclear war. So far neither the US nor Israel has squarely confronted this threat. For the US to do so we must be ready to fight a much larger war than the Iraq war.

Any attack on Iran or its nuclear program, by us or by Israel, is likely to lead to the closing of the Straits of Hormuz and a wider war in the Middle East. That means greatly expanding our military. Our military budget is almost at a post-WWII low. Not even close to what it was in the Korean War or Vietnam War as a percentage of GDP or our national budget. And it means the draft. In short, it means getting realistic and serious about the threat of nuclear Jihadism. That is what we must do--and much better to take preventive action now than wait for Iran to get nukes.
