Christian Fundamentalism do not represent all Christians

Reader comment on item: The Mystical Menace of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad
in response to reader comment: The Mahdaviat

I have been reading some of the comments and note the hostility towards Christians. It seems to me that those who push the view that Jesus will return in person have swayed public opinion with regard to what Christians truly believe about the second coming of Christ. George Bush is not a Fundamentalist and I have not seen anything stated by him that indicates that he believes that the Christ will physically return to this earth. (I am not an American or a particular fan of George Bush)

As such it is wrong to criticize all Christians based upon the erroneous assumptions of radical fundamentalists who preach the notion of Rapture. There is a majority of Christians who do not believe in the Rapture as it is preached by Fundamentalists.

On the other hand, this madman in Iran really believes himself to the promised "Messiah". He believes that way because he really thinks that he has a divine mission.
