Put up your dukes...Reader comment on item: The Mystical Menace of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad Submitted by Heather Clark (Canada), Jan 21, 2006 at 19:51 Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is thumbing his nose at the world.Iran elected a terrorist to run their country, a man who is not afraid to give up his life for Islam, decimate every human being on the planet for his religious beliefs. I love music. I love to read. I am female, live alone. I live in a democratic country that allows me the freedom to show my face, speak my truth, drive a car, be a Christian, own dogs, eat pork, walk in public without a male escort. I can show the world my short hair. I can wear lipstick if I choose, I can rent movies, write letters to Dr. Pipes website without fear of death or reprisal, wear shorts in hot weather. I can be critical of my government, protest. I don't have to live with my parents, still single at the age of 45. I don't have to wear a burqa, hijab. I don't have to hide my face. I don't have to ignore any MAN asking for directions. I don't take a back seat to ANY man. I am not a possession. I am a free woman. I can vote. Democracy is a fragile seedling in the Middle East. The World needs to unite to protect, encourage its growth. Heather Canada Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
