No I dont Agree: Its Purely a Christian InterpretationReader comment on item: The Mystical Menace of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad Submitted by Qas (Bahrain), Sep 30, 2007 at 12:15 While I do agree with the writer that for the Shites, Mahdi signifies resurrection, and yet the interpretation of "Madviat" should not be studied out of its context. Mahdi, like Christ, is a saviour, and his resurrection for the Shites is prophesied in the Holy Koran. But the Iranians have given the issue some political significance: Mahdi will not resurrect in a peaceful and tranquil environment; there must be chaos and disorder. Now, looking the world politics, the only country which signifies terror, chaos, war and hate is America. It is the Great Satan. From this perspective, one has to understand the meaning of Mahdaviat.
