Destroying the Iran nuclear threat is potentially strategically beneficial but tactically harmful. Now if Obama could convince Israel to do it, he could then tell the Israel haters that he advised against it and then carefully word a statement that elimination of Iran's threat to world safety is a goal he has always pursued. Then Obama could offer to help Iran financially, politically, and claim to be a peace maker. Of course Israel must have some quid pro quo but he'd likely find a way to back out of any commitment to Israel.
