Bombing Iran

Reader comment on item: How to Save the Obama Presidency: Bomb Iran

Submitted by Bill Wanger (United States), Feb 2, 2010 at 10:03

As always, your article "How to Save the Obama Presidency" is well written and thoughtful. However, the suggestion about bombing Iran seems a bit simplistic, especially when (i) it ignores what seems to be the "common wisdom" that Iran has so spread out its nuclear facilities so as to render a targeted, or surgical, yet sufficiently damaging (both in terms of completeness of destruction and the rebuilding timeframe), attack on its nuclear capabilites close to impossible; and (ii) it failed to consider the "fallout" (i.e., missles, terrorists) of such an attack upon Israel, as well as the USA's other friends in the Middle East, Europe and elsewhere.
