Aymenn, this week Iranian's foreign minister Mottaki is expected to attend a security conference in München/Germany. Another alternative for the US, maybe to late, is to pressure NATO allies in order to make them pressure Iran. I would like my own government to make very explicit statements to Iran given the occasion this week. Clear statements like "the german armed forces would not allow for a nuclear armed Iran threatening Israel".
