Reader comment on item: CAIR: 'Moderate' friends of terror

Submitted by N'zingah Al-Shams (United States), Sep 5, 2009 at 16:41

Dear Mr. Pipes,

I am a Muslim, born in America who does not want to see my country destroyed! However, I think you are mistaken to think that Muslims are not going to try to defend one another, just as you would defend others of your religion and who think exactly as you do. That is only natural. This is especially true where there is extreme bias and prejudice against Muslims, which is the case in this United States. I know, personally because neither I, nor my daughter can get employment since we dress in Islamic attire. In such a situation, you would be a fool not to defend yourself and others like you since you know, for a fact that this sort of unfairness does exist.

As far as the founder of CAIR stating that Al-Islam cannot be likened to any other religion, I must uphold that statement. Naturally, in your mindset you would think he is talking about ' taking over America and subjugating the American people to Islamic domination.' That is not what he, at all, meant. What he meant is bringing morality back to the American psyche--having the desire to do good toward outselves and our neighbor, as the authentic scriptures tell us (Torah, Bible & Quran). This is what he meant.

Lastly, I would highly recommend that you get hold of a Yusuf Ali translation of the Holy Quran and read it with sincerity and an open mind. Then, and only then, will you even begin to understand where the REAL islam is coming from (and I'm not talking about Muslims who have been actually proven -without a shodow of a doubt- to promote terrorism).
