Submitted by Superior Wisconsin (United States), Aug 16, 2008 at 19:47

Ibrahim Hooper, AKA Douglas Hooper was born to Walter and Terri Hopper Canadian citizens. They had two children. Craig and Douglas.
Father, Walter, was a devout Christian. Served in the Canadian military in WWII. He worked for Lakehead Pipeline now Embridge. Mother ended up being on the Douglas County Board in Superior, WI.

Mother and sons became American Citizens in the 1960's. The boys graduated from Superior Senior High School, Superior, WI.
Douglas attended university within the UW-Wisconsin system. He was interested in the Middle East Studies and did numerous student exchanges. At the time he said the Israelis were rude to him, but the Muslims welcomed him. He did numerous exchanges, and became enamored with Islam.
He was an editor of a newspaper or magazine in Wisconsin or MN and owned an Islamic grocery store. He did get his Master's Degree. He married a Muslim woman and they have a family. I want to say in the Madison, Wisconsin area. I lost track of him 20 years ago.
