First-hand experience with CAIR's apologetics

Reader comment on item: CAIR: 'Moderate' friends of terror

Submitted by Patrick Mallon (United States), Apr 23, 2002

I have had personal contact with several of the CAIR members mentioned in the article. We corresponded over the dispute and resulting CAIR apologetics for their "extreme offense" at having been searched and "profiled" at airports during pre-flight screening several months back.

I described the standard investigative practices of police procedure in that physica traits, age, and gender characteristics are the primary starting point for crime control methodology. Arab men, between the ages of 24 and 50 flew the hijacked airliners, clear evidence, and incontrovertible.

The hysterical e-mails I received back from CAIR representatives condemning my message were literally astonishing. Emotional, emphatic, accusing me of racism, denial of freedoms to young Arab men, bigotry, etc. Most of these guys apparently didn't care much for spell check either.

Yes, I have first-hand experience with CAIR. Even if objective evidence, clear as a bell, that Arab people had been directly or indirectly involved in terrorist activity, here in the states, resulting in harm or worse to innocent Americans, they would still deny the evidence, and characterize the accuser as a racist. It's standard issue practice from CAIR, right out of the morning staff meeting. Enough said!
