CAIR, the Wahabis and IkhwaniReader comment on item: CAIR: 'Moderate' friends of terror Submitted by RG Fulton (United States), Apr 22, 2002 Although CAIR is rooted in Ikhwani ideology, which arose at al-Azhar University (Cairo, Egypt) after the collapse of the Ottoman Khalifa in 1924, it is also composed of Wahabis, whose ideology is sustained by clerics from Islamic University (Medina, Saudi Arabia). Those who downloaded bin Laden fatwah, from his websites - azzam.com and qoqaz.com - are aware that the Azzamites quoted extensively from al-Qaeda clerics, such as al-Hawali and Jibreen. Although the Saud appointed Mufti Sahib, puppet fatwahed against suicide massacre, post 911, the House of Saud seems to be retuning Wahabi ideology in light of Hawali's "wrath" historicism. See OTTAWA CITIZEN (April 19) for the Ambassador Mohammed al-Hussaini's defense of his theocracy's recent telethon for terror. He condemns Citizen editorialists for "confusing 'martyr' with 'suicide bombers'. According to our religion, any individual killed in defence of his life, honour, family and home is considered a 'martyr'". And I thought that the House of Saud jailed Hawali from 1994-1999, because of his "martyr" jihidiocy against "Jews and Crusaders".Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
