Dear Dr. Qazi

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately you are right: In our days, trying to sound the voice of reason among Muslims (and in particular when you yourself are one of them) is indeed a very risky enterprise. As it looks now, the once illustrious Islamic culture degraded into an insane cult of terror and death. You must be aware no doubt also of how dangerous this lava like boiling (and from time to time exploding) ocean of Muslim hatred is to the well being of the world in general and in particular to the Muslims themselves.

I agree with you that: "In the long run there is hope as hope is something we all hang on to, in difficult periods. I am sure that one day, most of the mosques will be cleaned from extremism, and fairness will prevail." Nevertheless you must be aware that the main source of hope, at least for the Muslim societies, are people like you who are willing to think for themselves, and perhaps willing to try to pull out their fellow Muslims from their ignorant hate trip.

I don't think you can afford to wait till "these top 5 trouble makers retire" from the leadership of your communities. Even before they retire, the fresh replacements will be there waiting for their turn. You must go and find NOW those silent people who share your beliefs and values, and galvanize their support to cleansing your communities of these dangerous lunatics and of their teachings. There is no alternative to proactively standing up against those who bring disaster upon you and upon the rest of the world. In any case, keep on sending in your wise and valuable comments.

Moshe
