Don't Bring That Booze Into My Taxi

Reader comment on item: More on Those Alcohol-shy Taxi Drivers

Submitted by Terry Smythe (Canada), Oct 10, 2006 at 22:28

By accomodating these Muslim drivers with your silly roof top lights, you are effectively allowing, if not encouraging, these drivers to discriminate on the basis of religion.

Passengers legally carrying duty-free alcoholic products are doing nothing wrong. Facilitating discrimination by drivers on the basis of religion is illegal and that is fundamentally wrong. The Airport Authority is exposing itself to a class action lawsuit which they absolutely cannot win.

What it boils down to, is:

"How bad to Muslim drivers want to do business at the airport?"

If these drivers want to do business at the airport, then they simply follow the rules, plain and simple. If not, stay away.
