Too Pessimistic, Ed

It's been awhile, Ed, but in our formative years we fought an insurgency against thousands of dedicated warriors who fought a Fourth Generation War, asymmetrical war against more conventional US forces on this continent. Sob sisters today practice revisionist history by only emphasizing the brutality on one side, but there was enough brutality by both to go around. Little quarter was shown by either. It took awhile--from before the Revolutionary War until the late 1800's--but we learned how to fight them with overwhelming success. Unlike the Islamists, there was honor in their cause, and we honor them still--American Indians.

Daniel Pipes' provocative scenario misses this crucial factor--the DNA of the frontier Indian fighter still runs in our veins. And, we are a very well-armed citizenry, sir. American Intifada? Not for long.
