Reply to LDCReader comment on item: American Intifada Submitted by Brian C (United States), Jun 23, 2007 at 20:34 The Hawks (strong military force) and Neocons (New Conservatives) I referred to are specific people in G.W. Bush's inner circle: Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Paul Wolfowitz, et al, who strongly advocated the military invasion in Iraq. The Neocons believe the use of pre-emptive military force is an acceptable tool to achieve national and foreign policy goals. Just within the last coupe of weeks Vice-President Cheney gave a public speech where he plainly stated that the use of military force is a viable option against Iran if they don't curtail their uranium enrichment program. I have no doubts that that if any terrorist act(s) were to occur in the U.S. that are traced back to Tehran, that a full-scale military assault would be quickly launched against the Iranians.
