The problem is that to correct past acts of racism, the country is going to the other extreme and giving preference to non-Europeans. I would have no problem with that if these people really wanted to be "Canadians" (the Chinese are doing great in this regard). Instead, Muslims are making every effort to turn away from the culture of their new country and to preserve their own and make it as official as possible. There were serious attempts to legalize sharia law in the province of Ontario (feminists opposed it). And there have been demands to change sports and schools rules across the country to suit their needs.

In the meantime, I remain in the closet as a Jew, because I feel safer that way. It's not just fear of violence, but of minor acts of hostility that I have no time for. And if I go to a hospital, I will probably wear a cross that a Christian friend gave me once. I'm taking no chances. I might get a Muslim doctor...
