Julie O'Neill's CommentReader comment on item: American Intifada Submitted by Mel Laraway (United States), Jun 22, 2007 at 00:07 To make a moral equivalence comparison between conferring knighthood on Salman Rushdie and showering accolades on a savage brute such as Osama bin Laden is truly astounding. Sir Rushdie is an author who wrote a book critical of some of Mohammed's revelations, but in no way advocated violence or prejudice against Muslims, whereas bin Laden was the mastermind behind the atrocities of 9/11 and advocates the violent overthrow and subjugation of the Great Satan (the U.S.) and the Little Satan (Israel) and the imposition of Radical Islam on the whole world. Ms. O'Neill needs to educate herself on the true nature of the "religion of peace"; as many commentors in the past have pointed out, Islam is an easy religion to join, but if one realizes that he has made a serious mistake thereby, it can be a very dangerous religion to leave. Reasoned disagreement is welcome but not comments that are scurrilous, off-topic, commercial, disparaging religions, or otherwise inappropriate.
