Response to Julie O'NeilReader comment on item: American Intifada Submitted by Monty (United Kingdom), Jun 21, 2007 at 18:51 Provocation is precisely what is needed at this adjunct. How else do you find out who is a reliable ally, and who is not? Anyone who rejects your national sovereignty over your own business, is no friend. Just as anyone who rejects your personal liberties is no friend. Your "all we have to do is whatever the rabid seething islamists tell us, and maybe they will hurt some of us, but especially not me" approach is never going to work. Khomeini put folk like you up against the wall first, because he knew how toxic you can be. You can only be a useful idiot in a transition. After that, you are just an idiot.
