Forget Stone Age

The Islamofascists are already operating out the context of the Stone Age, K. Bombing people there is no solution to anything.

We are with an enemy employing the only weapons it has--Fourth Generation Warfare. Our challenge is to continue to learn how to fight that way, and we are learning. (We won the Third Generation Warfare in Iraq, declared victory, and then--surprise--along came another kind of war and we were not prepared.) We are losing in the battle of public opinion and political will, but we're just getting started.

If we leave Iraq, the trauma that follows will finally reveal, to all but the terminally stupid, the nature of the enemy we face. Even Europe will get the point. My god, the French are getting it now!

There is no one to say "uncle," no one to nuke. Consequently, our increasingly expensive war toys are not the tools that will defeat this enemy. Suggest you read Thomas Barnett's Blueprint for Action, recently released as his Vol II to the original The Pentagons New Map. He is a thought leader among the military. Unfortunately, our leading politicans in both parties appear clueless. Events will teach them.
