I think that the Bible points out that the battle belongs to God, and if the Jews are God's chosen to carry out an everlasting covenant , the scriptures also point out that God can be very effective at defending his poeple

"Those who curse the Jews will also be cursed"

and

"I will make your enemies your footstool"
