From a lawyer dissertating in International Law:

A state is when you have
1. a people (with some sense of belonging to each other, could be via language or tradition or faith or other components of social belonging)
2. a defined territory
3. a "central force" governing.

Now the Palestinians have had the Palestinian territory, they ve been a people - even if you say they were named so by the Romans, which I am not aware of, but have never been really interested in, to be honest - and they ve had clear boundaries for many years.
They ve actually been there for well over 1500 yrs.

Just a comparison: If I take your house and land, you do not manage to get it back after 30 yrs, at least in the legal regime I am educated in (European), the land cannot be taken from me anymore. Even if you prove in court I unlawfully took it from you, for the sake of "peace in ownership matters", after 30 yrs the court will rule the house is mine.
1500 yrs is a very long period of time.

Your saying denying the Palestinian ppl a state and a national identity after many centuries is purely illogical to me. Maybe you can elaborate some more.
