Richard Wigton's two solutions to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict

Reader comment on item: Walid Shoebat: "Palestinian turns from radical Muslim to true Zionist"
in response to reader comment: Shoebat a fake

Richard Wigton states: There are only two solutions to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. One is for a Palestinian state to be established in …Gaza….

REPLY: Disengagement from the Gaza Strip was completed on August 22, and from northern Samaria on August 23, 2005. Gaza continues to be used as a terror launch pad against Israel.

Richard Wigton states: --two-- that there be a one state solution where everyone--Jew and Moslem--is treated equally and fairly.

REPLY: Israel embodies democracy, rule of law, anti-racism, religious freedom and human rights Israel has a population of 6.7 million, about 1.3 million (20 % of the population) are non-Jews (approximately 1.1 million Muslims, 130,000 Christians and 100,000 Druze). Today, within Israel, Jews are a majority, but the Arab minority are full citizens who enjoy equal rights. Arabs are represented in the Government, and have served in the Cabinet, high-level foreign ministry posts (e.g., Ambassador to Finland) and on the Supreme Court.

Richard Wigton states: Of course the latter would mean the end of the Zionist dream and that is ok with me. Why should a nation be founded for one religious group?

Richard Wigton states: This is the 21st century. Can't we just see each other as human beings instead of Christian, Jew, Hindu, etc? .

REPLY:. If the Islamist Arab states put down their weapons, there would be no more violence. If Israel puts down her weapons, there would be no more Israel.

Richard Wigton states: Well that is my 2 cents worth.

REPLY: What is the solution to the Middle East Conflict? I do not know the answer to this complex three-dimensional issue but I know ALL children deserve to be influenced by compassionate and just adults who are committed to teaching tolerance, acceptance and respect.

We all know the bombing of the train in Madrid has nothing to do with a fence being built in the Middle East. It does have everything to do with the same ideology that straps the innocent Palestinian children with explosives. THIS IS THE IDEOLOGY which Walid Shoebat is opposed to, and rightfully insists there are no apologies for this extremism.
